Metal Grease Filters

Metal filters are an essential component of your kitchen range hood. Characterized by a metal mesh design, they are engineered to trap grease and prevent residue buildup in the ventilation ducts. These filters are used in both ducted and ductless hoods and are typically made of aluminum or stainless steel. They are washable and reusable, making them an eco-friendly and economical choice. To ensure optimal efficiency, it’s important to clean them regularly following our maintenance tips.

Activated Carbon Filters

Activated carbon filters are found in ductless range hoods and consist of activated charcoal granules. Their surface is designed to absorb and neutralize odors and harmful substances produced during cooking, purifying the air that is then recirculated back into the room.

This type of filter is especially useful for kitchens without an external duct, where fumes and odors cannot be vented outside.

Unlike grease filters, activated carbon filters cannot be cleaned and must be replaced with new ones or, alternatively, must be regenerated. Indeed, there are two main types of activated carbon filters:

  • Standard Activated Carbon Filters: These are traditional filters with a lifespan of approximately six months and cannot be washed. Once saturated, they must be replaced.
  • Long Life Activated Carbon Filters: These are long-lasting filters, with a lifespan of about three years. They are not to be cleaned like metal filters, but must be regenerated insteadRegeneration should be done approximately every three months.

Motors, fans and wheels

Motors and impellers are essential components of range hoods, responsible for extraction efficiency and performance. Electrically powered, motors generate the necessary force to draw in the air, while impellers, rotating at high speeds, direct the air through the filters either outside of or back into the kitchen, depending on the type of hood.

Maintaining these components in good condition is necessary to ensure optimal hood functionality. If the motor or impeller does not work properly, the hood may become ineffective, leading to an accumulation of smoke and odors or even complete stoppage.

Control Panels and Buttons

Control panels and buttons allow you to control your kitchen range hood. These parts let you adjust extraction speed, lighting, and other essential functions. However, with daily use, they can wear out or become damaged.

On Filtro Cappa, you can find a wide selection of replacements for control panels and buttons suitable for various models and brands of range hoods.
